Celebnomics

Celebnomics book cover by Amit Vaidya, How Fame Became the Ultimate Currency

Celebnomics is an ongoing body of work examining how fame became a form of currency, and how attention, culture, and economics now intersect. It approaches celebrity not as personality or spectacle, but as a system of value shaped, traded, and sustained over time.

At the center of this work is the Economic Value (EV) Model, a framework for understanding how visibility, momentum, longevity, and narrative control interact to produce lasting influence. The model treats fame as an asset rather than a moment, helping distinguish between short-term prominence and durable cultural power.

These ideas are developed and applied in Celebnomics: How Fame Became the Ultimate Currency, which examines public figures across entertainment, politics, sport, and digital culture to explore why some forms of fame endure while others fade.
